Word Of Mouth is the debut studio album by Toni Basil. It was first released in May 1981 in the UK and April 1982 in the U.S. It was certified Gold by RIAA. It featured the number-one worldwide hit “Mickey”. The album also contains three covers of songs by the band Devo who also performed on the songs (“Be Stiff” & “Space Girls”). The song “You Gotta Problem” is actually a retitled version of Devo’s “Pity You”. The US version of the album added the songs “Rock On” and “Shoppin’ from A to Z”, and removed “Hanging Around”.
