“Goodbye Girl” is a single released by David Gates, lead singer of Bread, in 1978 following the premiere of the hit movie of the same name. As the theme song to the movie, the song reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached number 3 on the Adult Contemporary chart.[2] The song appeared on his studio album Goodbye Girl, released the following year.
