Minako Obata

Minako “Mookie” Obata is a Japanese singer/songwriter. When she was five years old he started playing the electronic organ and learned the basics of music. From an early age she had a very strong passion for singing. She grew up strongly influenced by jazz, R&B, and gospel music, and began singing as a regular singer at local jazz clubs while attending university. The demo tape she made around that time caught the attention of people in the music industry, and after graduating, she made her professional debut with Victor Entertainment as Minako Obata. (source)
