The band Shot In The Dark made their first appearance on the 24 Carrots album by Al Stewart (Year Of The Cat) back in 1980. In 1981 the band recorded their first (self titled) album produced by Al Stewart.

Peter White member of the band  is a smooth jazz and jazz fusion guitarist. He also plays the accordion and the piano. He is known for his 20-year collaboration with Al Stewart. His brother, Danny White, was one of the original members who formed the UK-based band Matt Bianco.
