Émile Wandelmer is a French singer, born on February 15, 1949 in Rabastens ( Tarn ) of Spanish parents.
Émile takes advantage of his newfound freedom to realize a dream: to record with those whom he considers the best musicians of the moment. It will be in Los Angeles with, among others, drummer Jeff Porcaro , guitarist Peter Frampton , bassist Nathan East , whom his melodies had no trouble convincing. Some titles are also recorded at the Polygone studios in Toulouse , with musicians equally talented ( Denys Lable , Jean-Denis Rivaleau )
The album Lover Café was released in the spring of 1991 . Noted specialists but perhaps lacking in promotion, he does not meet his audience.

He is mostly known for being the lead singer of a band called “Gold”. They had several huge hits in the French speaking countries in the 80’s. Check out Gold’s Wikipedia page in English.

Toto clearly was an influence on Gold. One of their biggest hits ‘Rio de Janvier’ resembles ‘Affrica’, especially the rhythm track. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AowRoaeBazg

In the late nineties Emile Wandelmer formed a strange project called ‘Emile & Images’. It was the amalgamation of another successful French band of the eighties named ‘Images’ with Emile Wandelmer. They played remixed medleys of the hits of both bands. It was commercialy very successful (not artistically).

Another trivia. Lara Fabian participated to the Eurovision festival in 1988 with a song named ‘Croire’. (she was 18 years old) She ended 4th and the winner was another unknown singer named Céline Dion. ‘Croire’ was composed by the late Jacques Cardona who, without being a member, was one of the main composers of Gold.
