1990 Gil Evans with RMS – Take Me To The Sun

Ian Ernest Gilmore “Gil” Evans (born Green; May 13, 1912 – March 20, 1988) was a Canadian jazz pianist, arranger, composer and bandleader. Gil Evans is widely recognized as one of the greatest orchestrators in jazz, playing an important role in the development of cool jazz, modal jazz, free jazz and jazz fusion. He is best known for his acclaimed collaborations with Miles Davis.

Take Me To The Sun was recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival 1983 except the song Goodbye Pork Pie Hat that was recorded by Simon Smart at RPM Studios, NYC 1988 and this album was released in 1990.
