1970 João Donato – A Bad Donato

Bad Donato is an album by Brazilian composer João Donato, recorded in 1970 and featuring the fusion of MPB with jazz, funk rock and electronic. Later, he revealed that he did not know what he wanted or how he would record, but at the time he had all the support of the label, Blue Tumb Records.

Donato received a phone call from Eumir Deodato who, after hearing some demo songs, offered to make the arrangements. He was one of several musicians invited by Donato to accompany the orchestra of Stan Kenton. It was attended by musicians such as Bud Shank, Oscar Castro Neves, Dom Um Romão and Paulinho Magalhães.
